Story Walk
The StoryWalk integrates reading with a short walk around the Library. Families start in the front breezeway of the Library and read the pages of the story together, following the markers along the path to the ending at the outdoor Reading Circle benches. Both StoryWalk and the Reading Circle were installed in September 2016, with the benches dedicated in memory of Clemm Shankle, a long-time Library supporter.
All of the books picked for the StoryWalk encourage active participation by readers. Featured books change seasonally.
The StoryWalk™ Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition (VBPC) and the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.
