The Town of Southern Pines (Moore County) had a discharge of untreated wastewater on 10/18/24 of an estimated 1280 gallons near 265 Turner St. The untreated wastewater was discharged into an unnamed tributary of Aberdeen Creek. The Town Utilities Division was notified of the event at approximately 12:45 p.m. on 10/18/24. All efforts to mitigate wastewater release were taken, and the system was returned to service at approximately 2:30 p.m. on 10/18/24 and cleanup/sanitizing efforts were conducted.
