[ARCHIVED] BACKFLOW PREVENTION

If you recently received a letter for backflow prevention, the following information may clarify a few things. There is a remediation period until January 1, 2017 in which no penalties will be assessed. THERE IS NO 60 DAY COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENT AND PLEASE DISREGARD THE NEED FOR A CUSTOMER CONFIRMATION NUMBER. Some residents are transient and most lawn irrigation users' systems may be inactive during the winter and returned to service in the spring. In all cases, you may wait until your normal startup to either have a backflow preventer installed and tested or have the currently installed device tested. The only additional step is to have the test data given to BSI Online via the contact information provided in the letter. Please visit the link below for Frequently Asked Questions. A list of local testers can be found at www.southernpines.net/227/Water-Sewer at the bottom of the page. Thank you for helping us protect one of our most important investments...our water systems.
