[ARCHIVED] CANCELED - Annual African American Read-In

CANCELED: The Annual African American Read-In to be held tonight (2/6) at 5 p.m. has been canceled due to anticipated extreme weather events. Contact the library if you have any questions at 910-692-8235.

Celebrate Black History Month at the Library on Thursday, February 6 at 5 p.m. by recognizing the contributions of African American writers through readings of their work. Students, families, and community members are invited to select a short work or excerpt from a piece of literature (speech, letter, poem, play, story or novel) by their favorite African American author to read aloud. The Annual Read-In is sponsored by the Library and Moore County Schools. Sign up sheets for readers are available in the Library. Light refreshments will be served starting at 5:00 p.m. with readings to start promptly at 5:30 p.m.
