Currently, the Town of Southern Pines is under a winter storm warning for January 17, 2018 through January 18, 2018.
Roadways will continually worsen as the day continues and will remain treacherous through tomorrow morning. Citizens are asked to remain home and off the roadways while town and state road crews work to clear the snow and ice.
The following roads have been closed due to ice and snow covered roadways:
*Highway 22 between Mill Creek and Aiken Road
If travel is required, caution should be taken in the following locations as problems have previously occurred:
*East Indiana Avenue between Fort Bragg Road and Bridgewater Road.
*South Bennett Street between West Illinois Avenue and West Wisconsin Avenue.
*East Connecticut Avenue between North Valley Avenue and North Bethesda Road
*West Pennsylvania Avenue between Glover Street and Mechanic Street
