Notification #3.1 Regarding State of Emergency and Office Closings 9/17/18 6:45 PM

The State of Emergency declared in Southern Pines will continue until further notice. As of this evening, the Town of Southern Pines Library and Planning/Finance/Utility Billing Offices continue to experience difficulties with power and will remain closed until further notice. Utility Billing and Inspections offices will be available via their normal phone lines. The administration office will return to regular hours on Tuesday September 18th and will be open to the Public. Waste Industries will resume pick-ups when sufficient personnel are available. A CodeRed announcement will be sent out as soon as the schedule is provided to the Town.

With winds and rains having subsided for the time being, Duke Energy and their contractors intend to work throughout the evening in an effort to restore power to those still effected by the mass outages. Issues regarding ongoing power problems should be directed to Duke Energy at 1-800-419-6356.

Thank you for your continued patience throughout recovery efforts from this significant storm event.
