[ARCHIVED] Public Notice - HD-19-19 Certificate of Appropriateness - Major Work

The regular meeting of the Town of Southern Pines Historic District Commission will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020, at 4:00 PM in the Boyd Room of the Planning Department office, 180 SW Broad Street, Southern Pines, North Carolina. Notice is hereby given that a public hearing on the following Certificate of Appropriateness – Major Work will be held during the meeting:

HD-19-19 Certificate of Appropriateness - Major Work for a Temporary Outdoor Art Exhibit at Several Locations; Applicant: Carolina Horse Park Foundation; Authorized Agent: Audrey Wiggins

Mr. Bryan Rosenberg, on behalf of the Carolina Horse Park Foundation, has submitted a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness – Major Work modification to the condition (as shown below) set within the approval for a temporary art exhibit to consist of one painted pony at each of the following locations: 280 NW Broad Street, 241 NE Broad Street, 229 NE Broad Street, 107 NE Broad Street, 115 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, 122 W. Pennsylvania Avenue, 162 NW Broad Street, 140 E. New Hampshire Avenue, 130 SW Broad Street and 232 SW Broad Street. The said condition is as follows: The applicant will provide structural engineered drawings from a NC registered licensed structural engineer to ensure proper installation of artwork. Said drawings will be reviewed by the Town of Southern Pines Engineer prior to installation. The applicant has requested in writing to be relieved of this condition. The Historic District Commission shall determine if this modification constitutes a substantial change which might affect surrounding property owners.
