[ARCHIVED] Count Yourself in the Census

Count Yourself in the Census

The census, conducted once every 10 years, is the constitutionally-required count of every person living in the United States. The results will allocate billions of dollars in federal funding to local communities over the next decade. Census data also determines representation in Congress as well as state and local governments. Your community benefits the most when the census counts everyone.

Beginning March 12, the Census Bureau will mail census materials to your home. You can complete the census questionnaire online, by mail, or by phone. It should take about 10 minutes to complete, depending on the number of people in your household. Visit the Get Help Responding to the ACS web page on the Census Bureau website to assist you in completing the questionnaire.

Do you want to complete the survey online, but you do not have internet access from home? No problem! Stop by the Southern Pines Public Library during our regular business hours to receive help using the Census Bureau website. While we are unable to answer the questions on the questionnaire for you, we can help you with the technology.
