NC Kids Digital Library
NC Kids Digital Library contains eBooks, eAudiobooks, eVideos, and Read-Alongs for kids’ pre-K through 4th Grade. Books located under the "Always Available" page are available to kids anytime without a wait list. The North Carolina Public Library Directors Association (NCPLDA) together with OverDrive and the state of North Carolina created the digital resource sharing service several years ago. Any person with a valid public library card may borrow materials from this collection.
Please note - NC Kids Digital Library is different from the North Carolina Digital Library (NCDL). While both book collections are hosted on the Overdrive platform and available via Libby, NC Kids Digital Library is built exclusively for children. NCDL does contain children’s materials, but it is not as robust as NC Kids.
Tumble Books Library & TumbleMath
Tumble Books Library is a children’s book collection with animation, sound, music, and narration in different formats: story books, online audio books, interactive games, puzzles, and quizzes. This collection is always available to SPPL members, but it is now being offered to all community members for free from now until the end of August.
An additional collection, TumbleMath, is also being offered to the community free of charge. It’s a comprehensive collection of math picture books using the TumbleBook format complete with animation and narration.
