1. Where do I pay my water bill?

Pay by phone at 1-800-272-9829.  Enter jurisdiction code 4395.  ACI charges a nominal fee for this service.

Pay by Bank Draft:
The bank draft application can be downloaded or is available at the Utility Billing Office. Once the form has been completed and a voided check attached, please return the documents to the Utility Billing and Collections Office.

2. I have a leak, can the town help me?

If you have a leak, we are happy to offer you a free leak adjustment. The leak adjustment will never lower your bill below your average payment, only reduce a clear increase in usage. You may apply for this adjustment once per year. Please contact Utility Billing at 910-692-2206 for more information.

3. Can you please tell me more about the town's cemetery and how to buy a plot?

The town owns and takes care of a cemetery on Morganton Road, near the U.S.-1 interchange. We sell plots to both residents and nonresidents. The current rate for residents is $400 per plot, and $500 per plot for nonresidents. Please contact the Utility Billing Office at 910-692-2206 for the appropriate forms to identify and purchase a plot.  Visit the Mt Hope Cemetery Facilities page for more information.

4. Do I need a Business License

The only Business License required by the Town of Southern Pines is a Beer and Wine Privilege License.

5. How do I discontinue my utilities?

The completed form can be accepted in person, by fax or email. You will need to provide a forwarding address for any refunds or final bills.

6. How do I sign up for my water bill?

We can usually turn your water on within a day, although we encourage you to give us greater notice.

7. How do I sign up to pay my utilities via bank draft?

A $0.50 monthly credit is given each month your account is on bank draft. Please allow 30 days before your account will be drafted from the date of sign-up.

8. What do I need to know about renting property or building space in Southern Pines?

The Town of Southern Pines requires a deposit for water and or sewer service when you begin renting a property. This deposit is not usually collected by your real estate agent or property manager. The deposit varies and would need to be paid at the Utility Billing Office as part of turning on your water service.

9. What do I need to know about having a swimming pool in Southern Pines?

You should know that when you fill your swimming pool, you can qualify for a waiver on your sewer charge for the amount of water you use for your pool. Please contact the Utility Billing Office at 910-692-2206 to apply for the fee waiver.

10. How do I obtain a Beer & Wine License?

Complete the Beer & Wine License Application with the Town of Southern Pines Utility Billing Department at 180 SW Broad St (910-692-2206) and then take a copy of completed application to the Southern Pines Police Department. 

Complete required inspections with the Planning and Inspections Department ( 910-692-4003) and Local Government Opinion/Packet with the Southern Pines Police Department (910-692-2732).

Submit NC ABC Package to NC ABC Commission in Raleigh. 

When temporary ABC Permit has been issued by the state you must bring it to the Utility Billing Department. Then your local Beer and Wine License can be generated and paid for.
