Moving Here

Welcome to our town. We hope you can find everything you need here to help you transition smoothly and get to know our community. For more detailed information on town departments and services, please see the individual department webpages on this site.

Safety First

In an event of an emergency, the Town of Southern Pines officials may issue alerts through CodeRED, a high-speed notification solution. The CodeRED system allows messages to be quickly delivered to targeted areas of Southern Pines.

The Southern Pines Police Department has launched its Online Incident Reporting process on Citizen Connect where the public can self-report non-emergency crimes. Incidents such as Damage to Property, Lost Property, Credit Card/ATM Fraud, Harassing Phone Calls, Identity Theft and Stolen Property can now be reported from a smart phone, tablet or computer with internet access.  The process is simple to use and will provide the community with an immediate temporary case number.  After a report is filed, citizens will receive follow-up communications from the police department within 72 hours, providing citizens a status about their case.

Set Up Your Water

One of the first things you'll need to do when you buy a home in Southern Pines is to set up your water. Contact the Billing and Collections Department to turn on your services. When you sign up for water, you will be charged a one-time set up fee for receiving garbage, recycling, and yard waste pick up services.

Garbage, Recycling & Waste Pick Up

You can find the weekly garbage, recycling, and yard waste pick up schedule here. Recycling is typically picked up by the curb, but we are pleased to offer front-porch pick-up to residents with handicaps or disabilities. If you would like your recycling to be picked up from your front porch, please fill out this form and send it to Public Works.
