Function & Responsibilities
The Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) consists of a partnership which includes law enforcement, mental health and health care providers, educational organizations, and advocacy groups for the purpose of training, communication, and enhanced service delivery in dealing with mental health consumers.
The Southern Pines Police Department is committed to assisting persons in crisis and trains officers in methods to connect persons in mental health crisis to appropriate mental health services.
