Road Closures, Paving & Utility Work (and more)

It is necessary for the Town's Public Works department to temporarily close roads and/or shut off water in order to perform maintenance or repairs to the Town's infrastructure. When these closures and shut offs are known in advance, we will post them here so that you may alter your schedule and driving routes accordingly. We have an annual program to inspect, maintain, and repair the Town's public utilities. This easements provide the Town access to the utility infrastructure on private property. Learn more about this program.

POWER OUTAGES and Power Line Maintenance/Tree Trimming. The Town of Southern Pines does not manage power service. The State of North Carolina, Department of Transportation and its contractors may have additional closures and lane restrictions on State roads. We make every attempt to inform our residents of these closures when we are notified. However, there are times when notification from the State is not timely or doesn't happen at all.
