11. The Southern Pines Public Library offers basic, free Notary services by appointment. 
    Notary services are limited to three documents/five signatures per visit. Library notaries are unable to notarize the following:
    - DMV forms/vehicle titles
    - Real Estate/mortgage documents
    - Child Custody documents
    - Wills, trusts, deeds
    - Birth/Death Certificates or copies

13. The following are required for your appointment:

    • Unsigned documents to be notarized. The notary will only attest to documents signed in his/her presence. Documents presented must have the notarial certificate included.
    • Valid form of photo identification, such as a current driver’s license or passport (Military IDs are not accepted for Notary Services.)
    • Any witnesses needed.
      The library does not provide witnesses and witnesses may not be solicited from staff or patrons using the library. In order to serve as a witness, the witness must personally know the person whose document is being notarized and must be in possession of valid photo identification.
