 COMMUNITY CENTERS

This shingled, one-story building was originally built in 1942 for "Our Lady of Victory Catholic School."  Later named for Emanuel S. Douglass, Southern Pines first African American mayor, the historic building was dedicated for use as a senior and community center. The auditorium is used for events.

Train House

Originally owned in 1903 by James Boyd, the property was purchased in 1946 by Major W.D. Campbell who build the 65' Train House for his model trains. The Campbell House and grounds were given to the Town of Southern Pines and dedicated to community enrichment.

Image of Train Station Exterior - Rail SideThis historic train station in beautiful downtown Southern Pines was built in 1898 for the Seaboard Railway. The building was restored to its early 1900's appearance and hosts an event space, the Welcome Center and Amtrak waiting room.
