At The Library After School (ATLAS)
ATLAS is an after-school program for K-2nd graders. Perfect for kids who still enjoy listening to stories and can participate in brief, small-group discussion. Supplies for a related activity will be provided and can be worked on at your own pace within the children’s area or brought home. ATLAS is held the first and third Wednesday of every month at 3:30 pm.
Elementary-aged children and their caregivers are invited to explore topics in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Participate in STEAM projects and activities that you can recreate at home. Held monthly on a Sunday at 2:30 pm. Please check our Program Calendar for specific dates and topics.
ecoEXPLORE is a program for kids in K-8th grade that encourages them to make scientific observations in a fun way. Using smartphones or tablets, kids can make observations that scientists can use in their own research and also earn points and prizes at the same time! As a LoanSpot, the Southern Pines Public Library offers Loanpacks, which are filled with nature science equipment. Patrons can check out these backpacks to assist them in making observations.
